Dear Parents,

We are looking forward to welcoming your children to Erkel Ferenc Általános Iskola – Primary School, in the 6th district of Budapest.

In the school year 2022-2023, we are going to launch sport-oriented program with increased number of physical classes – in addition to the general elementary curriculum.

With us, your children can gain their first school experiences in a calm and loving environment. Here at Erkel, we believe that learning is only possible in a balanced environment, with careful attention to individual personalities and creativity.

Every start is difficult, so we would like to provide effective assistance to our non-Hungarian-speaking students as well, to facilitate their integration. In order to make it easier, we are focusing on active learning already in the first grade, but we also pay special attention to the constant high mobility needs of children. In addition to sport activities, we help building most important skills, necessary for learning, with the help of our development and talent management program, called „MiniLÜK” (Hungarian acronym from Mini-Logic-Skill-Creativity).

From the next school year, we are going to introduce Judit Polgár’s Chess Palace program on an experimental basis, which helps children to constantly develop in creative thinking. In addition, including our environmental education program we are organizing excursions, visits to institutions and museums, and we are also supporting the work of animal shelters within the framework of our community actions.

We are developing close relationships with the parental home for the harmonious development of children’s personality.   Our family-friendly school can provide a direct connection between teachers, students, and parents – to that our joint programs make a major contribution.

From the fifth grade onwards, according to the general curriculum, students have five English lessons a week. Our sports-oriented students are still playing sports 7 lessons a week, and have the opportunity to improve their English language skills 3 lessons a week.
